Godwin Emefiele’s Governor announced this in a statement issued on Sunday.
The Governor said so far CBN has collected one trillion naira and 900 billion of old documents, while remaining 900 billion naira has completed collecting old documents.
He said that CBN must seek for President Muhammadu Buhari's resignation in order to postpone the collecting of the old documents, and agreed to increase the pledge in 10 days.

“Due to the current situation, we requested and received orders from the President as: 10 more days for collecting old cash from 31 January to 10 February, the collecting of the Nigerian official will continue,” Listen to the announcement.

CBN Governor has called on Nigerians to be obedient and cooperative to ensure the refund is completed without any violence.
Before this step, many Nigerians have faced uncomfortable situations in transferring their old currency into banks.
In a statement, the Governor of the Big Bank praised President Buhari for cooperating with CBN for presenting this change of money which he said "it should be held every five to eight years, but Nigeria has not spent 19 years."
Big politicians in Nigeria such as Atiku Abubakar, Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, Peter Obi and Bola Ahmed Tinubu have called on CBN to increase the amount of money.
