Court has ordered Abdullahi Abbas to arrest allegedly threatening life and intimidation,
A federal high court residing in Kano has ordered the arrest of APC chairman of Kano State, Abdullahi Abbas, and imprisoned him before the party, on allegations of life threatening charges and misleading words.
Mahmoud Lamido, a Kano state activist, was involved in court by his lawyer, Bashir Tudunwazirchi, is demanding the arrest of APC chairman Abdullahi Abbas, on his allegations of threatening him through telephone, by saying "I will mislead you".
Judge, S.A. Amobeda of the Federal High Court in Kano has issued this order with postponement to 16 February to look into whether the order will be followed.
Responding to the case in a statement, NNPP opposition chief, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa said this is the second time in a row that different judges have issued such court orders, to force police commissioner to arrest and prosecute Abbas in front of the cleric on issues related to violence, intimidation and life threatening.
"We hope that this will be a lesson to every politician that chooses the path of violence, instead of improving peace in Kano and Nigeria," said Mr. Dawakin Tofa.
